New addition to the Johnson home...

So last weekend we were at Home Depot and these 3 kid's came up to us holding 3 tiny puppies. They told us the mom would not feed them any longer and they needed to get rid of them. If you know Kalli then you know she loves animals of every shape and form (she obviously takes after my sister) and has been begging for a puppy. So we walked into the store and everyone had a huge melt down, including Jett. So to make a long story short we ended up taking the littlest one home, and we haven fallen in complete love with our little Maggie. If she can survive being dragged around and put into doll strollers then she is definitely a keeper in our eyes. She loves Riley so much, he takes such great care of her and he is constantly telling us "I am such a great dog owner". As much as I was trying to fight them all in having a dog, I have to admit it makes me so happy to see them with her & I have fallen in love with her as well.

Totally different subject but I was reading a friend's blog and she had this poem on it. I thought this was so beautiful and a great reminder to us all, so I had to share. Thanks Lindsey!

If I had my child to raise all over again,I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.

I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.

I would do less correcting and more connecting.

I'd take my eyes off the watch, and watch with my eyes.

I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.

I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.

I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.

I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

Happy Birthday to two of my favorite people!

October 28, 1978 is the day that two of my favorite people were born, Jett and Allison ( I would have posted a picture but I realy want one of them together or hey Allison send me one of you:) because I already have some of Jett).
I will start with my husband he is such a wonderful husband and father, I could not imagine my life without him, in fact I don't remember my life without him we have been together for so long. It is so great to know that no matter what, someone loves me through the good and bad. Thank you Jett for all you have done for me to make my life so happy, I love you!
Allison, what can I say but she is and always will be my best friend. She has been there for me through EVERYTHING. She is such a wonderful friend, she is the one who will cry with me, make me laugh, bring me dinner if I am sick, calls to just say hi. I love you and am so happy to have you in my life, thank you for everything.
I am so lucky to have the best family and friends, thank you to all who make me a better person.

p.s. Jett wanted me to let anyone who reads this blog, that he had NOTHING to do with the music. So I am sure he will find a way to change it!

Remember to say "Thank you"

So last week I was talking to my Dad about a job he had done that day (FYI he & my uncle own a plumbing company) and ever since it has just had me thinking so I just thought I would share this with you.

He was at women's house, who was obviously having plumbing problems, she was their with her young kids and looked to be at her limit. They got to talking and she told him that her husband was in Iraq serving in the war and had been there for a long time, I think he was on his second tour of duty. My dad noticed her Subaru sitting in the driveway with the hood up and asked her if her car was having problems, she said yes and that she had finally received the rest of the parts to finish fixing the car. My dad said to her, thank you for your sacrifice that you and your family are making in behalf of me and my family, she turned to him and said you know no one has ever said "Thank you". My dad had to go back again the next day to do more work for her and she came out crying when she saw him, she told him she talked to her husband that night and he was grateful for my dad and his work. (p.s. for those who are curious - no, my dad did not charge her for the work).

It has just had me sick to think that these families whose fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, cousins and friends are out serving our country and are making great sacrifices daily, are struggling and what are we doing for them? I can't stand that she had to fix her own car, go to work, fix the household problems, take care of her young family, etc. and barely skim by and not one person can even say a simple thank you.

I just felt strongly to write this, I know it might be stupid, but if any of you know someone who is serving, please tell them we said THANK YOU!!

The Trilogy

So, I have been reading the "Twilight" trilogy by Stephenie Meyer and finished it up last night. I know alot of people have already read this series, but seriously if you have not it is a must. I had no idea I could be completely obsessed with ficitional characters, I truly read these 500-600 page books in days. I totally recommend these books to anyone, they are a great read and I can't wait until next fall when the fourth book comes out. Will he or won't he is the only question I have???

Crazy September is over!

Our September has been so busy, but full of so much fun and memories. To start we had 2 wedding's both our little sisters', sold our car in our garage sale, sold our other car the next day, football started, dance started and regular life in between.

First, I'd like to say congrats! to my sister Ashley and her new husband Loni and Jett's sister Sammy and her new husband Lamar. They were both married this month so it has been so much fun having two additions to our families, we think the world of you both and are so happy to have you as part of our lives, both weddings were absolutely beautiful. Jett showed everyone his great moves at Ashley and Loni's, he danced his heart out and even broke out a little Michael Jackson, he made everyone laugh and it was fun to watch (I will post pictures soon).

Riley has been keeping us so busy with all his homework, he is doing so great in first grade and we are so proud of him. He has been playing flag football and has loved it so much, of course, he is the littlest kid on his team but he is the fastest. Kalli has been going to preschool and loves every minute she is there, she goes with her two friends, Ryleigh "the girl" (as she says) and Jerzi, it has been so much fun to see her grow and hear their little conversations after school, we have also put her into dance she is doing cheer, tumbling and jazz.
